In 2012, Chery embarked upon the new journey of developing international markets. Chery had exported over 700,000 units by early May, and performed stunningly in some key national and regional markets. Good news has come recently from Iran that Chery was honored as the “Best Auto Brand” at Esfahan International Motor Show in mid-May. What’s more, Chery sold over 5,000 units in May in Iran market.
Esfahan International Motor Show is one of the largest motor shows in the Middle East, which attracted over 300,000 consumers every year. At this year’s show, by strong performance and elaborate booth arrangement, Chery outperformed local brands including Iran Khodro and Saipa, as well as international brands including Peugeot, Renault, Kia and Hyundai, to become the biggest winner. Chery took the title of “Best Auto Brand”, setting off a whirlwind of Chinese automobile in Iran.
Chery established its first overseas KD plant and first coating plant in Iran, and has become a well-known auto brand in Iran after nine years’ development. From 2003 when Chery and MVM moved into the local market together, to 2007 when Chery and Iran Khodro established a joint venture, and to the present when the manufacturing system and marketing network of Chery’s plants in Iran were gradually perfected, all these have laid a solid foundation for maintaining Chery’s competitiveness; besides, Chery’s R & D technology and localization capacity are improved day by day, its products better meet the demand of local consumers, and its high-tech competitive models are recognized and trusted by local consumers. Among models available in Iran, Chery Tiggo and A5 become “stars” in hearts of local consumers by humanized equipment and high cost performance. For example, Tiggo enjoys a safe lead in the 2.0L- SUV segment in Iran with a monthly sales volume of over 1,500 units. At the same time, Chery has been vigorously developing convenient customer services and after-sale claims, thus establishing the favorable image as trustworthy auto brand.
We have every reason to believe Chery will form a sounder and more standard whole industry chain with the further upgrading of its production, marketing and service systems in Iran. Its sustained and strong comprehensive competitiveness will earn an important place for Chery brand in the Iranian auto market, thus achieving win-win with distributors and consumers.
